Summer is coming!

Finally the weather is getting better starting today. The sun is out, there’s no wind, everybody’s happy.

This winter hasn’t been that bad, the temperature didn’t go under 12 degrees but it has been windy at times and there were some rain showers. I know I can’t really complain comparing to other countries in Europe, but it’s insane how fast you get used to the heat. And when you’re used to 30+ degrees, 15-ish suddenly feels the same as -20.

It’s pretty easy to spot the tourists on the island during winter, since we are all walking with thick jackets, scarfs even, while the tourists are walking around in their shirts and shorts. After all, they are coming from freezing temperatures in their own country to a sunny, modest 15 degrees in Malta.

Let’s see tonight if the hibernating girls are coming out again, since apparently they sleep during cold periods since they are nowhere to be seen. I’m pretty sure they will show themselves now that the first (hot) rays of sunlight are poking the island. Can’t really complain about the amount of people that actually did go to Paceville in the winter weekends, because it has been busy almost every weekend, which is surprising for summer. A new semester for the university started at the beginning of February so I guess that helped a lot.

Anyway, sun is up, time to party and check out the beach!
